The World Champion Zhang Jike is out of China Open tournament after losing the 1/16 finals from young FAN Zhendong after quitting. The score was 2:2 (11-7,6-11,5-11,11-6) when Jike left the match.

Ovtcharov and Samsonov against Ma Lin in the final in Russia

The teams of Orenburg and UMMC will determine the champion of Russia in 2013. This was clear after both teams won their semifinal matches. Surprisingly Orenburg had major problems against Ulan-Ude, while UMMC with Ma Lin got the victory over Moscow without much troubles.

The best players of Orenburg Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Vladimir Samsonov suffered losses in their matches against Ulan-Ude, but it wasn’t huge problem after Alexei Smirnov was completely flawless.

China without gold in the mixed doubles

China mixed doubles WANG Liqin and RAO Jingwen lost the semifinal of World table tennis championship in Paris from LEE Sangsu and PARK Y with 1:4. Thus China has no chance to take the gold in the tournament. The match was close, but ultimately the Koreans forced the win with 9-11,8-11,4-11,11-8 and 8-11.

In the other semifinal KIM Hyok and Bong KIM Jong from Republic of Korea play against the pair of Hong Kong CHEUNG Yuk and JIANG Huajun.
